Be there to learn how to help yourself or others in a variety of situations. The book selected to be discussed at the November meeting is Where the Crawdads Sing (2018) by Delia Owens. Bring your best salad and appetite and continue the 50th celebration. Welcome in the new officers and learn about activities for the coming year. Look over the list of books in the previous post on this page. We’ll vote for the selection to be read at the November meeting. Our Hostess is Holly, and our Co-hostess is Jean.

Chicago North Shore Alumnae Association’s celebration of its 50th anniversary got off to a great start, July 14, 2019, at Homer’s in Wilmette, with reminiscing, games, prizes, and of course, Homer’s Ice Cream!

The 50TH ANNIVERSARY of CHICAGO NORTH SHORE is this summer! Celebrate with sisters at an Ice Cream Social, on Sunday, July 14, 2019, 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 pm, at Homer’s Ice Cream, 1237 Green Bay Road, Wilmette, IL to commemorate CNS’s special anniversary! We have a private room and the charge is $10 per person. Chicago North Shore was chartered as an Alumnae Chapter on July 14, 1969, becoming an Alumnae Association in 1993 as directed by the national fraternity.

Alpha Xi Delta’s gather July 3-6, 2019, in Seattle, Washington, for the National Convention. Penny will represent Chicago North Shore Alumnae Association and will tell us all about her experience at our September 11, 2019, Salad Supper.

Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.  This is the annual end of the year gathering to honor those members receiving the Order of the Rose (50 years), Order of the Pearl (60 years) and Diamond (75 years), as well as the members who have already reached these milestones. Installation of new officers serving the next two years will take place. Pam is our hostess, and our co-hostess is Judy. Join your sisters for this very special evening!

Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.      Exercise Your Brain and Keep it Sharp! Learn about brain-training exercises and the research behind them. We will try some exercises! Election of officers for the next two years will take place. Chocolate (brain food?) and Irish treats will be served. Dian is our hostess, and our co-hostess is Susan.
