In the spring of 2021, Alpha Xi Delta started the Alpha Xi Delta KINDLY HEARTS CAMPAIGN, after announcing the end of its 12 year partnership with Autism Speaks, the nation’s largest autism science and advocacy organization.  The Kindly Hearts Campaign is focused on service and fundraising in local communities.

To support this campaign Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations create projects within one or more of the following areas of focus: supporting students, food insecurity, and basic needs shortages.

Chicago North Shore Alumnae Association supports the KINDLY HEARTS CAMPAIGN in two ways: Donation of books to Open Books and service to the Northwestern University Settlement House.

NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY SETTLEMENT HOUSE

The Northwestern University Settlement House is located at 1400 Augusta Blvd in Chicago and provides a number of services for children of the working poor in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood.  One of the Association’s sisters is actively involved and directs our support.  Chicago North Shore Alumnae Association provides for a family in December at holiday time with gifts for each person, household items and other funds for food or utilities.

Chicago North Shore Alumnae Association also financially supports the Alpha Xi Delta Foundation.
